the meymandi concert hall is located within the massive progress energy center for the performing arts. it takes up an entire block. seriously. I believe there are five venues in this one space. the green room was like a bunker, underground and windowless, and without the benefit of wifi (incredulously, they wanted $225 for access to their wireless. wtf?), I got bored quickly. all the national geographics they had laying around were over ten years old, and I had already read them (although I did leaf through the one about the sistine chapel restoration again. there are some rad pictures). we had a particularly good show, as it was a homecoming show for eric, and he had lots of friends come out, including eric and mark from the archers of loaf. I saw this vending machine in a bathroom on our way out of town, and regretted not having enough quarters to discover what kind of, uh, cultural delights it possessed.
